When police sketch artist Marla Larson agrees to manage the family quilt shop, the arrangement is temporary. Marla’s no quilter—but she doesn’t mind coming home to Crooked Falls, Minnesota, where the people are politely nosy and the pines reach the starry sky.

Marla never expected to find a dead guy in the shop, and with her ex working as the new chief of police, the investigation gets complicated. Add two bug-eating cats and three cantankerous customers, and Marla will have all the help she wants to get the job done.
